Reproduction of a flintlock rifle made of metal and wood with a simulated loading and firing mechanism. Originally developed in Pennsylvania in the early 1700s, these rifles were widely used during the War of Independence (1775-1783) and accompanied the first American explorers in the western conquest. They are most often associated with Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett.

The Kentucky rifle was one of the first to feature a "rifled" bore, which made it extremely accurate for its time. This is a shorter version of the Kentucky Long Rifle (22-1137), similar to the prototype M1803 rifles carried on the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
